05/27/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Little Nolan, a “petite” Pittie, grew on me over the two days I spent time with him. He was quite anxious and needy to start with, seeking body contact, kissing, hugging, panting, crying a bit and barking when left alone. Today was another day. Nolan was on his best behavior, still very sweet, sociable and friendly but calm and such a good walker. No pigeon chasing, no marking, absolutely civil with other dogs met, even the little ones and an excellent “sitter” on command. We settled on a bench in front of the care center, Nolan right by my side, leaning on my chest and asking politely for kisses. He is such a lovely young man and quite a pretty one too, with his houndish face and markings. Nolan seems to have been a little neglected. He was most likely not fed enough and not properly cared for. His nails are long and some hair is missing around his eyes. A proper diet is in order. No wonder that Nolan is a bit anxious. He needs attention. Well, I know that you are out there, the perfect match for Nolan, a beloved and steady owner who will care for him and love him to get in return a most awesome little loyal companion. Nolan is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nolan pulls a bit on the leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was a bit excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Nolan followed the assessor at the end of the leash with a calm and relaxed body language when playing tag. He was not interested in toys. Nolan did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2.
