Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Noah came in as a stray so behaviors in the home are unknown. He appeared to be friendly upon intake. Noah was a bit nervous during his initial medical exam but allowed all handling. He walked well on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. Noah was calm and quiet upon entering the SAFER assessment room, but became uncomfortable with positioning for tactile portions of assessment. He pulled out of assessor’s hands on all three Look attempts. Noah leaned in during Sensitivity item, tense, mouth closed. He did not follow during Tag game, crouched on second pass, air snapped during third pass. Due to this the remaining tactile portions of the assessment were skipped. He showed no interest in Toy. Noah must be placed with a New Hope partner. He would benefit initially from entering a calm, quiet, structured environment so he can warm up and know what to expect in his new home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog leans and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body tense, mouth closed Tag: 5. Dog growls and air snaps, does not follow at end of leash Toy 1: No interest.
