I am a female black and white labrador retr mix. The shelter thinks I am about 6 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 12/15/2016 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-084527.

12/22/16 CIRDC noted on rounds S/O: Q/BAR. Attention seeking. Decreased appetite EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, mild seromucoid nasal discharge H/L: Coughing and sneezing A: CIRDC P: Rec doxycycline 400mg po q24 x 10 days. Excellent prognosis 12/21/16 scan negative (re-scanned per medical memo) S/O: BARH. Attention seeking, allowed all handling. 12/15/16 20:15 Niva is a black with white on her chest that is possible 4 years old. The dog was found in a building abandon by the owner. Niva was found with another dog and brought to ACC. During intake Dina was very relaxed and allowed all handling. The dog allowed being collard, scanned and photographed.

KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Unaltered, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 12/17/16 Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1& 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. No interest. Summary: Niva was calm and social towards the assessor. PLAYGROUP: Niva was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Niva displays soft body lagnague as she wanders in a calm group of male and female dogs. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Niva displays soft body lagnague as she wanders in a calm group of male and female dogs. Niva has displayed great sociability towards other dogs and is utilized as a social greeter dog. She displays soft body language throughout all interactions and is tolerant of a female mounting her. She chooses to walk away when a dog becomes reactive towards her. The Behavior Department believes that Nina should be placed in a home with resident dogs that match Niva’s calm sociability. 12/17: Niva greets a novel male dog displaying neutral body language. She mostly keeps to herself as she explores the pen, only greeting the male briefly. 12/19: Niva was introduced to another female dog today and greeted her with a stiff, assertive posture. After several seconds of their conflicted greet the handlers interrupted and the two dogs parted, and explored the yard. 12/21: Niva calmly wanders in a group of male and female dogs. She is tolerant of a puppies play solicitations. 12/22: Niva has displayed great sociability towards other dogs and is utilized as a social greeter dog. She displays soft body language throughout all interactions and is tolerant of a female mounting her. She chooses to walk away when a dog becomes reactive towards her.
