05/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nikki previously lived with adults and has spent time with children of all ages. The owner stated Nikki is relaxed around children, adults and strangers but doesn’t play. The owner mentioned Nikki will nip if someone touches her food bowl while she is eating or takes a treat and toy away from her. The owner describes Nikki as friendly, confident, mellow and independent. It was reported by the owner Nikki has a low activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Nikki was calm and allowed all handling. During SAFER Nikki came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Nikki was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Nikki was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Due to some concerns stated from the previous owner Nikki will nip if someone touches her food bowl or takes away her treats and toys. The behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is between her legs, body a bit tense, mouth closed, lip licks. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest.
