Nickel aka Smiley Face, came to us flanked by her ..two sweethearts, Zinc and Copper. They had been left in an apartment as their owner was hospitalized and were fed by a relative.  Their life did not seem right to them, they became edgy…and they were brought to us, right here at the care center.  The trio is really worth to meet. I know Nickel and she made quite an impression on me.. Red and white…Fire and ice…A rotund gal who has been well cared for by her former owner. At the age of 6, she has seen a number of litters but looks very healthy and is  so well groomed. She is a bit anxious, all over the place, paces in the pen, pants a lot, wags her tail non stop and makes often contact with me obviously for comfort. She is lost, away from her housemates, her home and her master. Nickel understands quickly that I am a friend. She relaxes, starts to play ball that she does not guard, jumps on the bench and waits it seems for some orders from me…Her smile is unforgettable, she could be the new “Laughing Cow”. She squeezes against me and expects very obviously  hugs and caresses. I really think she was loved and misses her past..Nickel is a great walker(she does not forget to relieve herself on the way) and welcomes with her award winning smile and bouncy personality everyone around…She is a big ray of sunshine that could brighten up anyone’s life…Come and meet Nickel, recharge your batteries with her healthy energy…She could be the best friend , companion and confident you always  dreamed to have by your side.
Another volunteer writes:  Wiggle, waggle, bounce, smile, kiss, hug, bounce more, wiggle more…………Nickel is a little butterball who has the most amazing ear to ear grin, she loves to smile, she loves meeting new people, she loves going for a walk….she just loves……………..!   Her  bouncy energy is contagious and you simply cannot help but have a great time when you’re with her…she won’t let it be otherwise!  She’s all about “how to win friends and influence people” and she’s got it down!  Get your smile muscles ready because you will be smiling when you’re with her…..
