Hello, my name is Neo. My animal id is #16128. I am a male white dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 15-Dec-2017.
Neo is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs.

Neo took only a few minutes to warm up to counselor and was then very friendly and sweet. He had a loose, wiggly body and jumped on counselor and began licking her. He responded to the command sit with positive reinforcement, and counselors taught him the command paw!

Basic Information:: Neo was found as a stray three days ago by client who could not keep him. He is a young, white and tan, medium mixed breed male. He was not neutered prior to coming into the shelter.

Look:: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Paw squeeze 2:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Toy:: 1. No interest.
Summary:: Neo came into the room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the handlers.
Summary (1):: Neo was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. 12/16: When off leash at the Care Center, Neo explores the pens before greeting the novel female dog. He eventually approaches the other dog with a tall posture and vibrating tail. He repeatedly sniffs her genitals and mounts her, ignoring her attempts to move away. He responds to interruptions by moving away.
