01/14/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/14/17 12:39 Basic Info: Nene A1101527 is a 1yr 6mth old male white & red AMPBT mix who was bought as a puppy & is being surrendered due the owner being evicted. Nene hasn’t been seen by a veterinarian and currently has no known health issues. Socialization: Around strangers Nene is friendly/outgoing. He hasn’t been around/lived with children or other animals but was gentle, exuberant, affectionate & very playful with the adults in the home. Nene hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Nene isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl touched/moved, being brushed/bathed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. He hasn’t had his nails trimmed. If someone approaches the home/family member he’ll bark and or jump on them to greet them. For A New Family to Know: Nene is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, & excitable with a medium-high activity level. Nene enjoys playing with squeaky, stuffed, ball, rope toys and games of fetch & tug. He’s mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps around the home & is walked maybe 3x a month where he pulls strongly on his leash. Nene eats dry dog Pedigree food 2x a day, is wee wee pad trained and knows “sit”. When home alone Nene is well behaved but does bark. Intake Behavior: During intake Nene had a loose, wiggly body and allowed all handling; he even stood up to give hugs/kisses. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Nene was afraid to go into his kennel and made attempts to run out but when sat with inside the kennel he’ll climb in with you. Also Nene will chew on the leash, he chewed through one.
01/17/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: So adorably petite in his kennel, I initially thought Nene was a girl because he’s so pretty. Now I need to say he’s so handsome!! Well groomed in a gorgeous brown and white coat, his coat is clean and shiny, his weight perfect for his size. Nene was surrendered to our care when the only person he’s lived with since he was a puppy lost her home. We’re told that Nene is friendly and outgoing, doesn’t guard his stuff, and enjoys playing with balls and toys. We’re also told that Nene is wee wee pad trained, but he did go potty outside as soon as we were on the street, so some positive reinforcement will hone those skills. He pulls hard on the leash, but his former person didn’t walk him much, so he needs some positive reinforcement training on that, too, and he’ll be a star. Nene comes when called, his tail never stops wagging, he showed off his sit for a treat, and although he joined me on the bench for a quick kiss, jumped right down when something else attracted his attention. He has what I call a ‘love button’ (little patch of brown fur) right on top of his head, and he’s waiting for someone to meet him and softly stroke that love button. He’s adorably friendly with a lively fun energy, he’s smart and alert, hoping to meet his new person today.
