Hello, my name is Nena. My animal id is #9548. I am a female white merle dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks i am about 8 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 12-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- owner elderly.

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age:8+ Microchip noted on Intake? n History : o surrender Subjective: Observed Behavior -calm, allows exam Evidence of Cruelty seen -n Evidence of Trauma seen -n Objective T = P =80 R =wnl BCS 7/9 EENT: sclerosis ou, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: severe ddz PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: no SS, small MGT in caudal glands MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: severe dental dz,few small mammary gland tumors Prognosis:fair. Mg are likely benign but need biopsy. Dental disease must be addressed Plan:no treatment at this time, dental, biopsy in future SURGERY: Permanent waiver due to age
It is the policy of ACC not to perform surgery on any animal over the age of 8-10 years due to the higher risks incurred in a shelter setting. The veterinarian is hereby issuing a permanent spay/neuter waiver, from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY due to the estimated age of this animal. ACC does recommend you consult with your veterinarian to determine if surgical sterilization is appropriate.
