Hello, my name is Natalya. My animal id is #16745. I am a female black dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 22-Dec-2017.

No History : Surrendered as stray Subjective: BAR Hydr wnl Observed Behavior – Really good dog, complete exam happy and wagging tail Evidence of Cruelty seen – Scars Evidence of Trauma seen – Scars Objective T = NE P = 134 R = wnl BCS 4/9 EENT: no nasal or ocular discharge noted, OU chemosis, AU mild to mod malodorous yellow waxy flakes Oral Exam: mild hyperplasia/gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: FI mod to severe hematuria w/straining MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, underwgt, multifocal areas of linear to ovoid areas of alopecia, flakey coat, r lat hock circumscribed area of of thickened alopecic and erythematous skin CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Hematuria r/o uti, calculi, pyo, +/- heat Alopecia r/o scars, other Otitis r/o yeast, bact primary vs 2nd to allergies OU r/o environmental other Prognosis: good pending definitive dx Plan: Rads: no obv pyo or ub calculi CBC/Chem: mild Neutrophilia 13.13 (2.95-11.64), Mild hypernatremia 163 (144-160) monitor skin for changes consistent w/ inf underwgt r/o nutritional, gi, parasites other Clavamox 250 mg 1 po bid x14 days Mometomax 8 drops au bid x 1 week Tx for ear clean In medical for observation overnight. Pet (FI) observed to be straining to urinate on intake. Labwork shows mild neutrophilia, but no stone or pyometra on radiographic exam. Pet reported to be urinating overnight, although no further details provided. Reported to eat/defecate as well. Will schedule vet recheck 1 week after course of clavamox and ear medication started yesterday. No overt murmur/arrythimia/euhydrated prominent vulva and mg’s, although clean and dry
Hx: severe hematuria and straining noted on intake; radiographs were negative; started on clavamox, also on mometamax for otitis S/O -BAR, docile and friendly, adorable! allows all handling -mm pk, sl tacky; CRT <2 sec -no nasal discharge or sneezing -OU: mild conjunctivitis with episcleral injection -AU: mild erythema, crusting yellow discharge, mild pruritus -eupnic, heart/lungs WNL; mild nasopharyngeal stertor due to brachycephalic -soft abdomen, bladder too small to palpate -vulva enlarged, mild alopecia, no d/c -mild moth eaten dermatitis with dandruff and mild pruritus over dorsum A 1. Hematuria, suspect UTI 2. Dermatitis, mild-suspect mild allergies 3. Otitis externa P CWCT prognosis: good; suspect UTI as cause of hematuria
Hx: Severe hematuria and stranguria noted on intake. Pt started on Clavamox for presumptive UTI, and on Mometamax for otitis. Pt had normal urine in her kennel this morning, but had more bloody vulvar discharge – a large puddle of dark red fluid – today. S: Alert, calm, wiggly body, allows all handling O: BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9 EENT: Medication visible AU. Mild episcleral injection OU. Clean nose. H/L: NSR, NMA. Quiet lung sounds, eupnic. Abd: Soft, nonpainful, no masses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. Moth-eaten alopecia with dandruff on dorsum. UG: Female, developed vulva, no active discharge at this time Neuro: Alert and appropriate A: 1. Otitis – on treatment 2. Dark red vulvar discharge – R/O episodic hematuria secondary to neoplasia (TCC) vs. uterine discharge (neoplasia vs. hemometra vs. other) 3. Alopecia – R/O allergies vs. other P: 1. Collect urine for urinalysis 2. Try to collect bloody discharge for analysis 3. Recommend abd ultrasound 1088
Hx: presented with severe hematuria, radiographs negative for stones or obvious pyometra; started on clavamox but has persistent severe hematuria and straining to urinate S/O -BAR, very sweet and friendly, allows all handling -mm pk, sl tacky; CRT <2 sec -no nasal discharge, sneezing or coughing noted or reported -eupnic -soft abdomen A 1. Persistent hematuria-r/o uncontrolled UTI vs ectopic ureters vs other P -collect urine for urine culture -start baytril after urine collected; 136 mg tabs: 1.5 tabs PO SID x 10 days -rimadyl 75 mg PO SID x 7 days

Upon intake, Natalya had a wiggly body and waggy tail. Allowed counselor to pet and collar. She had a relaxed body and laid down throughout intake when not looking for affection.

Look:: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body low and a bit fearful.
Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Paw squeeze 2:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.

Toy:: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog may smell or lick, then turns away.
Summary:: Natalya approached the assessor in the assessment room with a soft body. She was social throughout the assessment, allowed all handling, and displayed no concerning behaviors.
Summary (1):: 12/27: When introduced off leash to a male dog, Natalya greets politely then engages in quick bouncy play.
