02/29/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Nana was surrendered into our care with few of her feline housemates as their owners could not provide any more for so many pets… She lived in harmony with a little Pomeranian, six cats and a myriad of children of all ages….and comes with stellar comments except that she would guard her food and toys. Nana is a bit lost in her kennel. Too many dogs, too many people and this is not her place… Just remember that few days ago, she was roaming free in a house full of critters and enjoying her family… A tough pill to swallow….She accepts easily my leash, though and off we go for a little tour around the block. She does her business in one stop and strolls nicely by my side. Other pooches are met, uneventfully. Back in the care center, free in a pen, Nana takes treats properly, does not really sit for them and enjoys a good ball game. She is running as fast as a Cheetah! She really comes back to life, playing…After initial shyness, she comes to sit on the bench next to me, her body resting against mine, just content to relax. Nana is a family dog with a little flaw that could be worked on…She has experience with kids, cats and even a little dog….Could Nana be “your cup of tea”, your forever best friend ? Nana is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center for her new teacher and master..
