Socialization: Nalani is friendly and outgoing around strangers and when she plays with adults she is gentle. She lived with children ages 6 and 13, with them she was relaxed and playful and gentle at play. Behavior: Nalani has not attempted to bite. She isn’t bothered if she is taken off furniture or disturbed while sleeping. She’s friendly if held, if her paws are touched, or if an unfamiliar person approached her previous owner. For a New Family To Know: Nalani is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and shy with a medium activity level. Her previous owners like how sweet she is. When they were around Nalani would tend to follow them around. She likes to play with balls. She was kept indoors and at night she slept in a the owners bed. She ate dry Health Extension. She seems to be house train but had an accident once. She knows the cues sit and come. She was walked twice and doesn’t pull on leash. Behavior during intake: Nalani held her head down and turned away when approached. When i called her name she wagged her tail and allowed me to pet her. She had a relaxed body and allowed me to pick her up and place her in a kennel.
05/28/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I love little grey mice and pretty Nalani is one of them… She is petite, compact and wrapped in a silver dress that needs a bit of mending. I like her lovely round face and the way she sniffs the air reminds me of a cat…She is quite timid even a little lost, often seems unsure and wary although she does all what is expected from her. Nalani was at an adoption event yesterday. I was so glad to see her there. She was well accompanied and much appreciated by the Police who sponsored the event. I think that she was clearly a favorite…Nalani sat on command, took treats politely, mingled BEAUTIFULLY with the many little dogs attending the “party” and even some big dogs visiting with their owners. I was so proud of her! She gave kisses to a few people who asked nicely and remained for quite a long time in the arms of a lady.. Nalani is a sweet gal who likes right now a gentle approach and cuddles…I know she must know to play ball or with toys as she gave me a hint that she could in the yard. She just has to bloom a little more and that can only really fully happen..in your hands. Come and meet Nalani at the Manhattan Care Center.
