09/17/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
9/17/16 :14:16 Basic information: Nala is a roughly 2 yr. old AM Pit Bull mix. The Owner got her from a breeder; she has owned Nala for over a year. The owner surrendered Nala because the landlord no longer allows pit bulls in the building. Nala has never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Nala is friendly playful. Nala has not lived with children but he is relaxed and playful around children and adults she does not know. Nala has never lived with other dogs but wants to play with other dogs outside. Nala has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Nala is not bothered when some moves her food or treats while she is eating, when someone takes her toys away or when someone disturbs her while sleeping. Nala likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had her nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home she approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner does not know how Nala is around loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Nala as friendly, affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. Her favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Nala tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Nala sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a dog bed. Nala was fed Pedigree dry dog food three times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Nala is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does not pull on the leash. Behavior during intake: Nala was relaxed with lose body, Nala allowed to be, scanned (-), collared and placed in a dog kennel.

09/21/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Of course we all know Nala as the heroine from The Lion King, but that origin is from Africa where the name means successful. Miss Nala joined us when her family’s building unfriended dogs and comes with wonderful comments from her former owner. She’s playful with everyone including children, strangers are only that for a second before they become friends, she wants to play with dogs she sees outside, doesn’t guard her things, and enjoys being brushed and bathed. Nala was indeed happy to call me a friend, pulling hard on the leash until she went potty and then walked easier. She takes treats gently, did want to meet other dogs in the park and got her chance on a play date in which she engaged in “pushy play” with the male greeter. As I took some pictures of Nala I noticed the remnants of red nail polish on her toes….she was loved enough to get her nails painted. Awwwww…. Alert, curious, energetic and friendly, Nala is hoping to live up to the meaning of her name, successful, and find a new family or person with whom to grow old and play fetch (her favorite game). Come meet her today.
