A volunteer writes: WANTED!!! BACK SCRATCHER!!!! If Mugzy was writing his own bio, I am relatively sure that this what it would say. Mugzy enjoyed getting his back scratched by one of our volunteers, and he didn’t want her to stop! 😉 Mugzy also likes wandering around the play yard, smelling the grass and taking in the sun. Mugzy appears house broken and walks splendidly on leash. Mugzy came to the shelter as a stray, and now is waiting patiently for his forever home. If you are interested in adopting Mugzy, come to the Staten Island Care Center.

Mugzy came into our center after a member of the public found him as a stray so behaviors in the home are unknown. He was friendly and allowed all handling during intake. Mugzy walked well on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. He held gaze for three full seconds during Look item, relaxed. Mugzy stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, ears and tail neutral. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft. Mugzy pulled his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He showed minimal interest in Toy. Mugzy did not approach the helper dog, turned away uninterested.
