A volunteer writes: Mrs. Puff…a cloud of softness, easy peasy and calm, her name so appropriate. Quiet in her kennel, she’s a gem on leash, never pulling as she enjoys the scents the street has to offer. Wagging her tail softly at everyone we pass, she’s happy to make new friends, then sit for a treat which she takes gently. Everything about her is soft and easy, until she sees a squirrel in the park she thinks might be fun to meet. But even at that, she’s easily dissuaded once the squirrel shows lack of interest. Mrs. Puff is the perfect model, holding a pose, not in a hurry, enjoying some petting and giving me a gentle kiss. She’s an oasis in the midst of a harried day, the perfect dog to come home to and tell about your day. An avid listener, a gentle soul, I felt my worries melt away when I was with her. In group play she continues her theme of being polite and soft as she greets other dogs. Hopping back into her kennel when our time was over, Mrs. Puff settled on her bed in a cloud of soft and easy, and with a hopeful look back at me as I promised her that her new person or family would find her soon.
Another volunteer writes: Mrs. Puff can always be found looking regal and elegant on her bed. I’ve met her several times now, and she is always the gentlest, sweetest, most respectful dog I’ve ever met. She loves other dogs and has been a greeter dog in playgroup, loves to meet new people and give soft kisses, and when off leash in the yard, brings a toy over to me to play tug. Let her win, and she brings it back for another game. How sweet is that? Staff loves her, volunteers love her, everyone who has met her loves her. Which is why she was the featured dog in Max’s ACC concert on August 12th. She’s waiting for that one true love to meet her and want to make her theirs. She’s perfection in my opinion, so don’t wait too long.
