A volunteer writes: Say cheeeeeese! Meet our own delightfully friendly platinum-coated Mozzarella, a young beauty guaranteed to put a pep in your step and a song in your heart. I’ve crowned her ‘Most Enthusiastic’ as even the blazing summer heat doesn’t slow her down and she’s as keen to get out and about as ever, pulling me toward the park with a big smile and a happily wagging tail. Miss M seems to be very house trained and knows how to sit on command and lightly mouth treats from my hand but it’s her sociability that marks her as a professional pet, she just loves every person she meets! No one is turned away when it comes to greeting and sniffing introductions and belly rubs are welcomed any time. She enjoys toys but doesn’t guard them and the words ‘soft’ and wiggly’ appear several times in her notes, this girl is almost literally non-stop fun and snuggles! She’s very excited to see other dogs but can be a bit rough in playgroup so a meet’n’greet with prospective four-legged siblings is a must. If your active family is looking for a pretty, playful and petite pet with energy to spare then you’ve found her in Mozzarella. Come meet the Most Enthusiastic Miss M and her cheesy smile today, you’ll be glad you did!
08/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mozzarella pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Mozzarella was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Mozzarella took the toy away but had soft body language. Mozzarella needs a significant amount of exercise, mental stimulation. She did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. Her body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Mozzaerella solicits and engages in vocal, very mouthy play. During paly, she begins to become aroused and air-snap with increased vocalization during, however is able to de-escalate herself. The behavior team feels Mozzarella should havea thorouh pre-adoption interaction before consideration into a home with any resident dogs.
