KNOWN HISTORY: None 6/26/17 Unaltered Male, Stray Bite history: Yes, Mosby has bitten twice, both bites broke skin. The first bite occurred when he was approached by a child who went to pet him, he growled and bit her leg and hand. The second bite occurred when a policeman went to get Mosby, he went to pick up the dog’s leash and his finger was bitten. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 7/6/17 Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Summary: Mosby snarled when the assessor approached him so the handling portion of the assessment was not conducted. He appeared social before snarling. DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: Summary INTAKE BEHAVIOR Upon intake, Mosby showed teeth. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/27/17 During his initial medical exam, Mosby growled and snapped. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Mosby so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. In the care center, he displays a high level of activity. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_No children (under 13): Due to Mosby’s multiple bite history, we recommend an adult only home. _X_Place with a New Hope partner: Due to the warning and distance-increasing behaviors shown in the care center, as well as Mosby’s multiple bite history, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide force free behavior modification to address the biting and underlying anxiety. Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Mosby appears to social and attention seeking and will then quickly snap. Guidance from a professional trainer/behaviorist is recommended to assess behavior after decompression in a new home environment. Force-free, reward based training is advised when introducing or exposing Mosby to new and unfamiliar situations.
