04/23/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes “Montgomery is a real easy-going, stop-and-smell-the-roses type of dog! During our walk he went at a slow pace stopping to sniff and/or relieve himself frequently. It’s as if he knew “I’d better take advantage so I don’t go in my kennel”. Very smart! He seems sociable towards other dogs, as he would approach them during our walk. He pulled a little sometimes but was completely manageable. He really appreciates some TLC!”
04/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Montgomery pulls a bit on the leash. He was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was out of the kennel Montgomery did not show any social behavior. When the assessor tries to collar Montgomery He was standing tall, hackles raised, stiff legged stance, body leaning slightly forward while giving a low growl. Due to the behavior demonstrated the behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources he was not interested in toys. Montgomery approaches the helper dog with his body soft, ears forward. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches the helper dog, body soft, tail well above spine level, ears forward. Helper:A1070821
