DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: Summary MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 2/8/17 During his initial medical exam, Monte was tense but allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Monte so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult only home _X_No children (under 13): Due to Monte’s bite history we recommend he be placed in an adult only home. The circumstances and severity of the bite are not clear and out of caution he should Monte should be placed in a home without children. Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Monte bit his owner in his previous home, reportedly without cause or warning. While he has not demonstrated concerning behavior in the care center, this behavior could resurface in another environment. We force-free, reward based training to work with any behavioral issues that may arise outside of the care center.)
