Hello, my name is Momi. My animal id is #13072. I am a female white dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 8 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 19-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person health – medical.
Momi is at risk for medical reasons. Momi has a mammary gland tumor and masses on her front legs. We have no concerns regarding Momi’s behavior and she has been assessed as being suitable for most homes.

Momi was very loose bodied she jumped up to greet me and allowed me to pick her up and place on my lap. She let me collar her and take her picture. When i picked her up to put her in the kennel she stiffed up and squirmed for a bit.

Basic Information:: Momi is a White female small breed dog that is estimated to be 7 years old. Her previous owner found her on the street and kept her for the last 7 years until she became too ill to care for her animals.
Previously lived with:: 2 Adults, 1 Adult Dog
How is this dog around strangers?: Momi is friendly with strangers and will run on to greet them she likes to jump up for attention from strangers.
How is this dog around children?: Momi was not around other children in her previous home but she was very friendly with children during walks.
How is this dog around other dogs?: Momi lived with another dog in her previous home and they were always together and would play all day. They would sleep together and shared a crate.
How is this dog around cats?: Momi was not around other cats in her previous home. She did lunge and bark at cats that she would see during walks.
Resource guarding:: Momi is not bothered by people going near her food or toys. She did barks and chase away the other dog from her food and got fed across the room from each other.
Bite history:: Momi has no history of having bitten another person or animal

Other Notes:: Momi tends to bark at the door when she hears knocking. She enjoys baths, being picked up, and brushed. She is not bothered by people going near her food or toys, having her nails trimmed, or by strangers approaching her.
For a New Family to Know: Momi is a very excitable dog that enjoys playing fetch and playing with squeaky stuffed toys. She is used to being indoors and eats dry food, She is very house trained and is also Wee-wee pad trained. When she is left at home she will bark for a while until she calms down. She is crate trained but was usually only inside for a few minutes at a time. She understands the cues for Sit, Stay, Come, and Go

Look:: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
