I came in the shelter as a RETURN on 12/23/2016 from NY 10024, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

12/06/16 12:54 Basic Info: Pinky A1098874 is a 2yr spayed female black & brown Yorkshire Terrier who was bought from someone selling puppies 2yrs ago and is being surrendered due to the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed. Pinky was last seen by a veterinarian in 2015 and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Pinky is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She’s been around children of different ages and was “wonderful” with them. She was playful, gentle, excitable and affectionate with them & the adults in the home. Pinky hasn’t been around other animals. Pinky hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Pinky isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl touched/moved, being bathed, being picked up/held or having her nails trimmed. The following hasn’t been done: having her toy/object taken away/moved, being restrained or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. For a New Family to Know: Pinky is described as friendly, very playful, excitable, affectionate, smart with a medium activity level. Pinky is a “house dog” who’s walked a couple of times a month and eats dry Beneful dog food 2x a day. She sleeps in a dog bed, is well behaved when left home alone, uses wee wee pads and loves playing with squeaky and stuffed toys Intake Behavior: Pinky allowed all handling and had a loose wiggly body. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Pinky seemed to enjoy being held & was placed into a kennel with ease.

KNOWN HISTORY: 12/6/16 Altered, Owner Surrender Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward children: Playful, gentle, excitable and affectionate Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Unknown FG/RG: None reported Bite history: None reported Housetrained: Goes on wee wee pads Energy level/descriptors: Friendly, very playful, excitable, affectionate, smart with a medium activity level Other notes: Upon intake Molly (fka Pinky) had a loose body and allowed all handling 12/23/16 Altered, returned adoption (returned for biting) Profile not provided Bite history: Yes, Molly bit a trainer on the hand. Molly’s adopter stated that she had been lunging at people and baring teeth, so a trainer was called in. This trainer utilized an aversive “alpha dog rollover” and when he re-approached Molly after the roll she bit his right hand. The extent of the injury is not known. SAFER ASSESSMENT: Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash slowly, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. No interest. Summary: Molly was fearful throughout her assessment; she may do best upon a slow/soft approach. We recommend allowing Molly to interact at her own pace.
