Mod Podge

Hello, my name is Mod Podge. My animal id is #17406. I am a desexed female gray dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 6 months 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a stray on 01-Jan-2018.

Mod Podge is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs. Mod Podge has been friendly in the care center and allowed all handling.

Let’s get to know each other a bit more…

A Staff member writes : My name is Mod Podge, and I want to tell you how awesome I am. I love treat, toys and attention. I have a favorite hobby, which is greeting you with my pretty face. I get along with other dogs, but I need time to warm up my playing skills. I would rather not eat vegetables, junk food is the way to go! I need an understanding family, who doesn’t mind me following them, especially when they have food. Come to Brooklyn Care Centers and meet a star.

My medical notes are…

Weight: 44.8 lbs

Summary:: Mod Podge was friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling, and showed no concerning behavior.

Summary (1):: Mod Podge was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. 1/02: When off leash at the Care Center, Mod Podge greets the helper dog with a tuck posture and tail. She begins to wag her tail, and allows the greeter to smell her muzzle. She mostly explores the pen, and offers a quick correction when the greeter is persistent with his attention getting behavior. 1/03: Today Mod Podge was introduced to a female dog. She displayed a tuck tail, and low body when exchanging sniffs, and offered an appropriate warning (lip curls) during a long face to face greet. She spends most of her session ignoring the other dog, while soliciting attention from handlers. She briefly redirects her attention towards the female greeter, offering a quick play bow, but does not engage in play. 1/04: Mod Podge engage in gentle play with a novel female dog. She avoids most body contact and solicits with quick stop/ starts.

Date of initial:: 1/2/2018

Summary:: Attention seeking, allows all handling.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Mod podge so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. Mod podge displayed medium energy and movement throughout assessment, and will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised.
