DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: 2 yr; Microchip noted on Intake none; History : picked up by police; Subjective: stray; Observed Behavior -docile and timid but allowed handling; Evidence of Cruelty seen -maybe; Evidence of Trauma seen – yes; Objective QARH; P = WNL; R = WNL; BCS 5/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears dirty, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: wound to maxillary gumline above 203 puncture/lacertion appears to be stab wound; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: intact, hyperplastic teats; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, live fleas seen, haircoat soiled, fecal matter on tail, malodorous, abrassions patchy- ventrum, paws, face. Degloving injuries to bilat carpal pads no masses noted, ; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: not performed; Assessment; injuries may have been caused by pet being dragged, gingival wound may have been stab wound; wounds are not fresh, a few days old; pet ambulates well even on front paws; Prognosis: excellent; Plan: bathed pet, assessed degloving wounds to be healing, no further treatment needs except to keep them clean; SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to injuries
