11/27/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Misty is just as soft and pretty as her name, and whether she’s snuggling up a storm, following commands to a T or simply strolling down the street like she owns it (and she does), there’s a quiet dignity to her pint-sized presence that turns admiring heads wherever she goes. That little peek-a-boo tongue coordinates perfectly with a pink scarf and does double duty as both a gentle treat scooper and a loving face smoocher, and she meets other dogs with a light heart and a wagging tail. Surrendered to our care through no fault of her own, Misty’s former owners describe her as affectionate and playful, happy to share her food or toys and unconcerned by baths, and they say her best pal was a cat! Now that she’s earned perfect scores on her behavior assessment, this adorable wee poppet would love to put those two years of ideal pet experience to good use as the newest and cutest member of your happy home. Come in to our Manhattan Care Center with an open heart and leave with a new best friend. Misty is crossing her dainty paws that you’ll choose her. Another volunteer writes: “Well hello Misty, it’s a pleasure to meet you!” Her hopeful eyes lit up when I stopped at her kennel, those adorable mouse ears standing at full attention. “Hey volunteer, please pick me.” Once outside, she demonstrated she is likely house trained, and will sit pretty for a treat. We had a very pleasant walk around the neighborhood, and even though we had just met, I felt as if we had known each other for years! I sat down on the park bench to see if she’d enjoy some petting, and she immediately jumped up and settled right in! We watched the pigeons fly by. We talked about cars, fresh air, and other dogs. At two years old, Misty has just the right combination of youth and wisdom to make an excellent confidante. Come by the care center today and share your secrets with her. Misty won’t tell!
