A volunteer writes:

I enjoyed my time with Mister Bones…To start with, he is a pleasure for the eyes. He is so good looking, so well dressed in his perfect and lush coat and owns such sparkly and clear eyes. I call him my  “Little Wolf”. Mister Bones,  although timid and a bit hand shy, is a very sweet, friendly and gently welcoming character. I love his smile and the way he slowly but surely trusts me and becomes more comfortable as our time goes by. He does not really care for my treats but comes right away when I call him and puts delicately his head into my lap for caresses.  He does sit on command and even will lay down.  Mister Bones was a little unsure in the street. May be the noise, the cars…He sniffed a lot his new territory and marked slightly. It did not take him long, though , to get the hang of the walk  and strolled in one straight line. Mister Bones is a must to meet. A lovely gentleman sure to make your days happy if you adopt him. Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
