06/29/16 13:21 Mister also known as Buddy is a 3 year old American Pit-Bull terrier. He was given to owner from the previous and has been in his care for a year. He is being surrendered into the center due to landlord problems. There are no known health injuries or concerns. Around strangers he is friendly and gentle when playing. He has lived with children age 6 and up and is very playful and relaxed. He has spent time with other dogs and is relaxed but he doesn’t play. With cats he isn’t familiar with he is aggressive; he will growl. There are no known health injuries or concerns. He is territorial and with people, or animals he doesn’t know come into his area he will bark. You are able to touch his food bowl while eating, take treat or objects away also; he is friendly. He isn’t bothered when he gets baths, nails trimmed or when his coat is brushed after a bath. He is also friendly when being held and restrained. When unfamiliar people approach you he is friendly; when unfamiliar people approach the yard he will bark. Mister is described as being friendly, affectionate and playful with a high activity level that would do best in a family home. He enjoys playing with kids or his toy balls. When home he will follow or enjoy a game of fetch. He was indoors only and slept on his bed; he ate both wet and dry Alpo at least 2 times a day. He is house trained but if not taken out accidents occur in the home a few times a week. When left alone in the home he is well behaved with a bunch of toys. And he knows how to sit. For exercise he goes for leash walks or plays in the yard. When off leash he will stay by your side or will wander but will come when called; usually he will potty on the cement.

Mister was surrendered into the shelter on 6/29/16. The owner stated Mister also known as (Buddy) previously lived in a home with young children age 6 and up. He is friendly toward the children playful and relaxed. According to the owner Mister has spent some time with other dogs and has a low level of activity around the dogs. Around cats Mister will growl. The owner also mentioned Mister is tolerable when his food bowl is touched while eating. Mister is described by the owner as being, affectionate with a high activity level; that would do best in a family home. Mister was kept indoors and would go outside for exercise in the backyard. While on a relief walk Mister was calm and relaxed. Upon intake it was reported Mister growled when attempting to be muzzled for his initial exam. During SAFER Mister came into the assessment room mellow and calm, he allowed all handling items to be done without issue. Mister was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Mister was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Mister appears to be sociable towards the assessor, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “experienced” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1.
