O reports deaf. could not elicit response to sound during exam. Subjective:hearing impaired Observed Behavior -docile, licks hands crawls in to lap Objective T = P =60 R =wnl BCS 3/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: clean teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: spayed MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: underweight, deaf Prognosis:good. unknown cause for underweight Plan:no treatment

Misa looks like a dream, unreal, a white linen undulating  in the air, weightless, almost sheer…She  is said to be one year old, adopted from us few months ago and returned as her owner’s schedule did not have room for a pet anymore. Misa would not eat , lost weight , is deaf and her master felt she would be better off  in our care.  Misa sleeps a lot in her kennel but comes to her door and is leashed easily. She seems tired but wags her tail. i carry her into  the yard where she mostly stays in place and stretches. She is beautiful, breathtaking and so unusual looking. She did not really care for treats or a ball but did have an eye for a few toys i presented to her. Misa is a little hand shy at first but got used to me and ended up on my lap where i believe she would have stayed for ever and ever. I was so glad to give her some warmth, some love and comfort. She was a moment of piece in my day too. Misa needs help…A caring, available and savvy  new owner and of course the expertise of a veterinarian. She is an adorable puppy who needs to bounce back into being a happy, playful and lively youngster… in your hands. Misa is at the Manhattan Care Center.

Basic Information:      Misa is a female, white large breed dog that is estimated to be one year old. Her previous owner got her from the ACC and recently was unable to give her the time to care for her so she was returned to us.

How is this dog around strangers?     Misa is friendly and outgoing when around strangers.

How is this dog around children?       Misa was in a home with 2 children of the ages 11 and 15 and was relaxed and playful with them.

How is this dog around other dogs?   Misa has spent time with other dogs both large and small breed and felt relaxed and playful with them.

How is this dog around cats? Misa is relaxed around cats but has not lived with one.

Resource guarding:     Misa is not bothered by people going near her food or toys.

Bite history:    Misa has no history of having ever bitten another person or dog.

Housetrained:  Partially

Energy level/descriptors:         High enegry, friendly, affectionate, playful, shy

Other Notes:   Misa is Deaf.

Medical Notes Misa is deaf, and has not been to the vet recently.

For a New Family to Know    Misa is very hmble and sweet she enjoys running and is always looking to play with others. she enjoys rope toys and tug-of -war. Misa is used to being indoors and sleeping on a doggie bed. She is deaf so she doesn’t know and commands but responds to vibrations.

Behavior Notes:

During intake Misa was very very friendly and receptive to petting. She allowed the counselor to collar, look in her mouth and trim her nails.
