11/05/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/5/16 19:55 Basic information: Mini is a roughly 3 yr. old American Staff mix. The Owner got her from a friend as a gift; he has owned Mini for over 3 yrs. The owner surrendered Mini because of personal problems. Mini has not been taken to a vet in over 2 years. Socialization: Around strangers Mini is friendly playful. Mini has lived with children between the ages of 8 and 15 years old, he is relaxed and playful around children and adults he does not know. Mini has never lived with other dog but gets along with dogs outside. Mini has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Mini is not bothered when some moves her food or treats while she is eating, when someone takes her toys away or when someone disturbs her while sleeping. Mini likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had her nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or her home she approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner says Mini is terrified of loud noises such as storms or fireworks and will often panic and hide from the noise. For a new family to know: The owner describes Mini as friendly, affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. Her favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Mini tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Mini sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a dog bed. Mini was fed Pedigree dry dog food three times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside she goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Mini knows the commands “sit “and “let’s walk”. For exercise Mini is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does not pull on the leash. She is allowed to play off the leash in the dog park sometimes, she stays close to the owner when off the leash. Behavior during intake: Mini was relaxed with lose body, when approached by staff Mini flinched and backed away from the staff member but allowed slow approach, owner was able to assist us, scanned (-), collared and placing in dog kennel.
11/08/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I couldn’t help but mute my laughter while I walked Mini, because I kept thinking this sweet girl is more like Mighty Mouse than a “Mini” while she strolls along: She seems to have no idea she doesn’t come close to my knee, walking with the stride of a proud marcher with a cause. But off leash, she reveals the shy personality that her former owner, who surrendered her for personal problems, spoke of with great affection. Still, she is always grateful, despite her timidity, much of which is no doubt finding herself in such a foreign environment. When, after a romp off leash, we went to put her leash back on she walked right over, sat down, and turned her face so we could put her leash on. Such a good, good dog. Mini has lived with children ages 8-15 with great affection and love, she gets along with other dogs, she is impeccably house trained, and she knows the commands “sit” and “let’s walk.” She’s also, from what we hear, a delight in the dog run and loves to play fetch. We’re aching to see this little girl back in a situation where she can do all of those things, and where she might be loved up enough to let her Mighty Mouse roar. Believe us, you’ll giggle with delight!

Mini may easily startle and is made uncomfortable by loud noises and sudden movement and will display proper warning signals as well as increase distance from anything that may present a threat.
