WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes:
We do not know much about little Mimi, an eight year old Chihuahua who came to us with a kitty named Mitch as their owner became too sick to care for her pets. We were told that Mitch and Mimi used to sleep together in a doggy bed..How cute is this…Mimi is scared here at the care center. Chihuahuas have very sensitive souls, shake easily like leaves and need to be handled with care. Mimi likes a gentle approach. Open her kennel and she will run to the door . Some peting helping, she is leashed effortlessly and carried into my arms to the yard. She pulls a little, does her business and roams leash free in a pen. She is wary of the scarf and i decide not to put one around her neck. She accepts petting and at the end of our encounter, little bits of dry liver treats. She hops on the bench on her own and settles half on my lap…As I said…slow approach, let her do the work at her pace…Mimi, like many Chihuahuas needs an experienced new owner, preferably a lover and connoisseur of the breed. In good and loving hands, she will make a very sweet friend.
