MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
11/09/2016 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 75.0 LBS.
ACT brought pt down to Medical after hurting his ear outside while exercising. There is a small laceration (< 1 cm long) in the lateral margin of the ear pinna. There is mild bleeding. Ear wounds can be slow to heal because they are frequently re-traumatized when the dog shakes his head. This may bleed profusely but it should heal with time. Additionally, pt is hacking and coughing quite a bit this morning, even when not exercising or pulling on the leash. CIRDC is likely, in addition to neck irritation from pulling. Move to isolation and start doxycycline 350 mg PO SID x10 days. 1088
11/01/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/1/16 18:45 Basic information: Milo is a roughly 3 yr. old Am Pit Bull mix. The Owner got her from the previous owner as a gift; she has owned Milo for over a month. The owner surrendered Milo because the owner moved to a home that does not allow Pit Bulls. Milo has never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Milo is shy for a few minutes but warms up to them. Milo has lived with children between the ages of 9 months and 2 years old, he is relaxed and playful around the children. Milo has lived with a small mini Poodle, Milo was relaxed around him but usually does not interact with the dog. Milo has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Milo is not bothered when some moves his food or treats while he is eating, when someone takes his toys away or when someone disturbs him while sleeping. Milo likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home he growls and may bark at them. The owner does not know how Milo is around loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Milo as friendly and playful with a high activity level. His favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Milo tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Milo sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a blanket. Milo was fed Pedigree dry dog food two times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. For exercise Milo is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does pull strongly on the leash. Behavior during intake: Milo was calm with lose body, when approached by staff Milo growled at the staff member and another person who entered the office during the intake. The owner was able to assist us, scanning (-), collaring and placing in dog kennel.

11/03/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Milo’s previous owner cites “Milo has lived with a small mini Poodle, Milo was relaxed around him but usually does not interact with the dog.” Milo plays exuberantly with male and female dogs. Often times, Milo attempts to mount dogs during play, and persists despite receiving warning or correction from them. Milo often engages in rough play, running, mouthing, and using his paws frequently to solicit. Based on observation made while in our care, the behavior department recommends slow introductions between Milo and other resident dogs. Milo may be most compatible with other highly playful dogs, or those who are tolerant of high energy play and interaction. 11/3: When introduced off leash to other dogs in the care center, Milo enters the pen with a low, submissive body posture- he zoomies through the pen and paw slaps other dogs, and cowers away when corrected. 11/4: Milo engages in similar play with dogs that engage in a rougher playstyle. He will mount males and will roll over when he is mounted. 11/5-11/9: Milo continues to engage in rough play but is more intent on mounting today (both males and females).
