Medical Behavior Evaluation GREEN
Medical Summary 11/29/16 Check puppy with skin disease. Microchip scan neg. O: BARH. Very friendly, social, easy to handle. ORAL: Still has deciduous canine teeth; adult incisors and premolars erupted. EENT: Mild scleral injection OU. Mild entropion and periocular swelling OU. ABD/UG: Female, unspayed. Abd palpation WNL. INTEG: Alopecia, erythema, crusting, pustules and scabbing over majority of head, limbs, and body. MS: Amb x 4, no lameness. PLN: Enlarged submandibular, prescapular, and popliteal lymph nodes. A: Tdx generalized demodicosis, secondary pyoderma. Mild conjunctivitis. Age est. 5 months. P: Skin scrape = many Demodex seen, no sarcoptes found. Ivermectin 1.8 mg administered SQ. Continue Ivermectin 1% 0.18 ml SQ x 6 more days. Then recheck, reweigh, and begin 0.3 mg/mg dose if no signs of neurotxicity. Start Cephalexin 250 mg PO BID x 21 days (may need to treat for longer). First dose given. Start TAB ophth ointment. Apply OU BID x 7 days. Bathed in oatmeal based shampoo. Good prognosis.
