A volunteer writes:

I met Michelle the day she arrived at the care center. Her story is not known to us but its kind of easy to reconstruct….Michelle gave birth, fed her brood the “required” amount of time and when the puppies were ready to be sold, mommy was discarded…We should never assume, of course but it makes quite a lot of sense. ..Michelle is as pretty  as her given name, petite, girly and super gentle. She is low key, quiet in her kennel, non destructive and waits patiently at her door for someone to take her out. She is a clean gal and likes to do her business outside.. On the leash, she is a dream and nears very properly other pooches. In playgroups, she rather does her own things and prefers to hang out with the handlers.I doubt this young dog had much opportunity to play with her peers.  Michelle comes when called and even sits on command for treats or just like that… She is not aloof and enjoys caresses and the lap. She is all softness. Our Michelle is worth her weight in gold. She is a good little girl, very young at one year of age and so deserved to have her share of happiness with a loving master  in  a safe and nurturing home… Could you be the one ready to open your heart to Michelle? She is at the manhattan Care Center…waiting for you.

Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
