Medical Behavior Evaluation RED
Medical Summary 04/17/17 History – Brought in by the police, was found as stray in someone’s yard. No medical concerns noted. S: Microchip scan negative. Age est 3 yrs. Observed behavior – Very agitated in cage, lunged at staff when removed, growling, hard barking. Unable to handle. For staff and dog’s safety, administered Telazol 0.9 ml IM to examine and perform all treatments. . O: Sedated. mm=pink, moist, HR=140, RR= 30. BCS=7/9. ORAL: Not fully assessed – even with sedation dog is growling. Visually teeth are clean, no oral lesions. EENT: No oculonasal discharge. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD: Soft, no masses/organomegaly. UG: Neutered male. MS: Amb x 4 prior to sedation. Overweight body condition. INTEG: Full, slightly dirty haircoat. No skin lesions. NEURO: Mentation appropriate prioe to sedation. Full neuro exam not performed. A: Overweight, young adult neutered dog. Age est 3 yrs. P: OK for vaccines, HWT, Microchip, Flea control, and pyrantel. Monitor while at BACC. Excellent prognosis.
