06/01/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/01/17 14:15 Basic Information: Biscuit is a 10yr old male small dog who has been kept in the same home for about 2yrs but sadly could not be kept due to the lack of time. Biscuit was last seen by a vet a few months ago and also has Cataracts. He also is known to scratch his ears a lot and they become red but it is only because he had small hairs growing in his ears that seems to irritate him. Socialization: Around strangers and children Biscuit is described as friendly, respectful, outgoing, relaxed and playful. He has beed around the ages of 10, 12 and 15 and he is known to play gentle and exuberant with both adults and children. He has spend time with a handful of other dogs and is described as relaxed and tolerant of other dogs but doesn’t play with them. He has also bitten another person before during grooming, he does not enjoy being groomed. Behavior: Biscuit will often poop and pee indoors when he is in a new area that he has never been to before, during loud noises or storms he isn’t bothered, allows you to touch his food, treats or toys when he’s eating or chewing on them and isn’t bothered when he is being held, restrained or disturbed while he is sleeping. He enjoys bath time, getting his fur brushed and he doesn’t mind when someone unfamiliar approches his home or his owner. For a New Family to Know: Biscuit is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy around dogs, confident, mellow, excitable and independent. He often scoots his butt around the floor, enjoys going on walks, follows you around when you’re home and will sit right next to you when you’re sitting down. He doesn’t like toys much, has been kept only indoors, sleeps in his own dog bed, eats Purina dry food 2x a day and is partially house-trained. He has accidents a few time a week, can use the bathroom just about anywhere both indoors or outdoors, has never been left alone in a yard, has been crate trained and does well overnight, doesn’t know any other commands except come, slightly pulls on the leash and while off leash he will wander for a bit but will come right back when he’s called.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced adult-only home _X_No children (under 13): Due to Biscuit’s response to some handling, we feel an adult only home would be best at this time. Potential challenges: _X_House soiling: Biscuit is noted to have occasional accidents in the house. We recommend regularly scheduled consistent walks, as well as wee wee pads placed indoors to encourage eliminating in proper places. Accidents should never be punished as it can damage thehuman-dog relationship and is likely to make the problem worse. _X_Handling/touch sensitivity: Biscuit has growled and snapped when his eyes were examined, and bit the owner when being groomed at home, showing an uncomfortability with touch in certain areas. It is important to avoid Biscuit’s eyes at this time and be cautious when touching him in other areas.
