10/26/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/26/16 17:57 Melinka is a 1 year old female APBT mix. She was brought to a vet hospital by her owners. They are homeless and she was living outside with them. Melinka is shy with new people. The staff at the vet office report that she cowers when approached. She spent a few days with them. The technician who was walking and caring for her was able to pet her head and body. She reports that on walks, Melinka ignores other people and dogs nearby. The field officer that picked Melinka up reports that she was shy so he handled her slowly.
10/29/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Our sweet, shy, and beautiful Melinka joined us when her owner lost her home. Her gleaming black coat and lovely, elegant, petite figure attest to the fact she was well cared for and loved. Melinka means ‘serious minded, responsible and stable’, and right now Miss Melinka is very serious. She’s lost everything she knows, and while shy she is making an effort to make new friends. Coming gently out of her kennel we begin our walk after Melinka goes potty (first things first!), and she shows me lovely leash manners as we walk. Off leash in a pen Melinka comes when I call her and jumps up on the bench to sit beside me finding her way onto my lap. When I cradle her and kiss her she leans in closer for comfort and closes her eyes. It’s hard to right ourselves when everything has been turned upside down but Melinka is finding her way. We’d love for her to find her way to her new family so that the key word in the definition of her name becomes ‘stable’. Her happily ever after won’t be complete without you, so come meet our elegant, gorgeous little girl today.
