03/14/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Mckenzie’s previous owner describes her as both mellow and as having a high activity level. At first I didn’t get it, but after spending some time with her I think I do. She has been very mild mannered with me, but seems to know when it’s appropriate to let loose….and what fun we have when she does! She gets the zoomies, plays fetch, and initiates some over-the-top displays of affection. When another volunteer joins us in the yard she literally knocks him over with kisses, props her paws on his shoulders from behind (asking for a piggy back ride maybe?), and then more kisses! When we’re done she quickly calms down, walks very nicely on leash, and shows that she’s likely housebroken. She greets medical staff (she is being treated for a skin condition on her legs) we encounter in the hallways with an unparalleled wiggle and the response she gets leads me to believe she’s one of their favorite patients. She previously lived harmoniously with a three-year-old and another female dog and has done well in playgroup while at the care center. Mckenzie is the best of all worlds — maybe she could be part of yours, please come meet her at Brooklyn ACC!
