A volunteer writes: Inside of every shy person is a playful, affectionate and loving person waiting to be set free. Animals are the same, and Maybelline fits that descriptor. Named for the famous cosmetic company, Maybelline needs nothing to enhance her beauty – as she’s a natural inside and out. Shy in her kennel it took some sweet talk and treats to win her over, and once she decided I was a friend she quietly came forward. Once outside she went potty right away, and walked nicely on leash pulling slightly from time to time. Her caramel coat gleams with good care, her petite frame carries her perfect weight and once May was off leash in the yard her playful and loving side hidden from view until then, came bounding out. May leaps for toys and balls, giving chase, pouncing and having the best time. As other dogs approach our pen her tail wags as she goes nose to nose to say hello. May came into our care when a person found her wandering alone and took her home for the night. We’re told that she is timid but friendly to new people, was relaxed, playful and tolerant of 5 children ages 2-12, went potty outside, and wagged her tail at other dogs met outside. I adored seeing Maybelline open up to reveal her playful and affectionate side, giving me kisses between bouts of play. Lucky is her adopter who watches her blossom into the loving, carefree and cherished companion she’s meant to be. Come meet her today.
PROFILE:
BASIC INFO
Maybelline is a young female APBT mix. She was found loose outside yesterday. Her finder cared for her overnight, but can’t keep her.
SOCIALIZATION
Maybelline is timid but friendly with new people. Her finder walked her around and visited relatives with her yesterday. She was relaxed, playful, and tolerant with 5 children ages 2-12. She sniffed other dogs she met outside and wagged her tail. She didn’t bite anyone.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Maybelline pottied outside on walks and then in the home in the morning after she hadn’t been walked in 8 hours. She chewed a phone charger wire in her finder’s home. She whined when he left her in his room. She ate dry dog food.
INTAKE
Maybelline had a low body and tail and moved slowly. She retreated a little when I scanned her (-). She was tolerant while I collared her and pet her. She was reluctant to walk onto the backdrop but followed us there. She sat next to me and leaned against me and stood in my lap while I pet her.
