10/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Unknown In-tact, Owner Surrender SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/9/2016 Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. His body is tense, his tail is tucked. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is tucked, body tense, mouth closed, head low, ears back, lip lick. Tag 3 . Dog crouches, follows fearful, approaches assessor at end. Squeeze 1 / 2 : 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog sniffs, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog, turns to exit Summary: Difficult to remove from kennel, growling. Once comfortable, Maximillion allowed all handling from assessor and was easily picked up and placed back in kennel. Recommend slow approach/slow introduction. PLAYGROUP: When off leash with other dogs Maximillion is fearful, avoiding interaction and hiding under the handlers legs. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 10/06/16 During his initial medical examination, Maximillion appeared a bit nervous though tolerated all handling without issue; does best upon a slow approach. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience _X_No young children (under 5) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Maximillion appears to do better upon a slow/approach though he has been observed to display proper warning signals when made uncomfortable; loud noises/sudden movements present a challenge at the moment and for this reason we advise against a home without young children. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended when introducing/exposing Maximillion to new and unfamiliar situations.)
