DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: According to Sir Max’s previous owner, Sir Max has been around dogs of all ages and is described as relaxed and will sniff and engage in gentle play. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Sir Max displays neutral body language when greeting a novel female dog. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen. When greeting the female, Sir Max is slightly sexually motivated but listens to a soft correction from the female and wanders in the pen. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 10/31/16: During his initial medical examination, Sir Max was social and attention-seeking, allowing all handling without issue. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience Potential challenges: _X_Separation anxiety: Limited information was provided by the previous owner, but Sir Max was noted to whine and bark when left alone, and complaints were made by the neighbors. We cannot be certain whether this is separation anxiety behavior, but Sir Max has also showed a high level of anxiety in the care center, pacing and whining in the behavior room and when on walks, so we recommend that potential adopters be prepared to manage this anxiety should it show in a home environment.
