09/13/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Just a friendly family dog…now looking for a new family, and shy for a couple of minutes when we first meet. That doesn’t last long, and soon enough Max is draped over my lap for some snuggle time. Surrendered by his family, which included older children when they moved where he isn’t welcome, they tell us he’s housetrained (check), playful and affectionate (check and check), knows sit (check) and stay (who knew?), doesn’t guard his stuff, doesn’t mind baths, lived well with another dog, is well behaved when left home alone and is friendly to all. Max is beautifully groomed and cared for, loved playing off leash with a ball and a soft toy, and even brought the toy to me so that all three of us (that includes the toy) could cuddle together. So sweet! In the park, he likes to play chase with the birds and the squirrels, poses for photos like a pro, and never stops wagging his tail at the fun of it all. He’s a bright eyed, enthusiastic, gorgeous boy who is between homes at the moment. He’s hoping to become a part of yours, and I think that will be a brilliant decision on your part! Come meet him today.

Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
09/12/16: Max’s former owner reported that Max lived with another dog and got along with that dog and other dogs well. When introduced off leash to another dog in the care center, Max shows a bit of play interest, however is more interested in attempting to mount the female greeter dog when she does not reciprocate play. The behavior team feels that Maz could potentially be adopted to a home with another dog pending a successful pre adoption interaction and slow introductions.
