08/18/16 20:53 Basic Information: Max is a 14 yr. old male Pit Bull Terrier Mix that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Max for 7/8 months but can longer take care of her due landlord not wanting Max residing in the yard any longer. Owner found Max as a stray. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, Max is friendly and outgoing. Around adults and children, Max is respectful and playful. Max plays in an exuberant manner. Max has never interacted with other dogs so his behavior is unknown. Max has never been exposed to cats so behavior around them is unknown. He has never bitten a person or another animal. Behavior: Previous owners stated that Max doesn’t have any behavioral issues. For a New Family to Know: Max is described as friendly and mellow with a low activity level. Max lived in the yard and was only taken in the home during really bad weather. Max was fed dry dog food. Max usually goes to the bathroom on the grass in one designated area in the yard. When left alone in the yard, Max is well-behaved. Previous owner is not aware if Max knows any commands.

Helper dog: A1085525 Max previously lived with adults and has been around children. The owner stated Max is friendly and playful towards strangers, adults and children. The owner describes Max as friendly and mellow. It was reported by the owner Max is house trained, has a low activity level and well behaved when home alone. During SAFER Max came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Max was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Max was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Max appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Flank squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body soft, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
