Max might be 12 year old but he does not look like it. To start with, he has been beautifully cared for and seems to have been just pampered in grooming salon. Spic and Span, nails trimmed, still nice teeth, barely cloudy eyes and up and about like a youngster. He would fly in batman fashion out of his kennel, so be careful when you open his door… Max loves to be out and in company. He is a good walker, sniffs a lot his new premises and does not mark his territory. We do not know if he is housetrained or not. He does sit on command and will pose for pictures. He is an excellent arm and lap dog and does not appear to mind other pooches met in the street. Max comes with excellent recommendations from his former family who might have relinquished him as they wanted a younger dog to care for…. He would be affectionate, playful, loving and excellent with kids, strangers , dogs and cats. How is that for a little gem? Max the elder is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center. He is so excited to show you that oldies are still goodies and a source of love, companionship and fun for their owners…. Come and meet him soon.
PROFILE:
Basic Info:
Max A1082737 is a 12 yr. old male Yorkie mix who is being surrendered because his owner does not want him anymore. He was last seen by a veterinarian in 2015 and has no known health issues.
Socialization:
Around strangers, Max is friendly/outgoing. He has been around children and plays exuberantly with them. He is friendly with other dogs and cats and he has not bitten anyone or any other animal.
Behavior:
Max was walked three times a day by the owner’s son. During storms/fireworks he’ll bark. He isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being disturbed while sleeping/resting. Max loves bath time and being brushed. He hasn’t had his nails trimmed. If someone approaches the home/family member he wants to play.
For A New Family to Know:
Max is friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable & independent with a medium activity level. The owner likes how friendly & playful he is. He enjoys playing with a sneakers, rope toys and games of fetch & tug. He is mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps on in his dog. He eats dry dog food 2x a day and likes any kind of dog treats. He knows how to “sit”, “stay” & “come”.
Intake Behavior:
Max allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. He was fearful. He was then transferred into a kennel with ease.
