Hello, my name is Maude. My animal id is #11057. I am a female brown brindle dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 28-Oct-2017.
Maude is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Infection Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. experience contagious illness to other dogs. Maude suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience

Observed Behavior – Evidence of Cruelty seen – Evidence of Trauma seen – Objective T = P = wnl R = eupnic BCS 4/9 MM moist, skin turgor normal, euhydrated EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: mild dental calculus PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact female, no spay scar seen, no MGTs, no vulvar discharge MSI: Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, 1 live flea seen CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment 1 flea seen, otherwise apparently healthy Prognosis: Excellent Plan: Paradefense plan for OHE SURGERY: Okay for surgery

Objective EENT: serous nasal d/c bilaterally, no ocular d/c ou H/L: sneezing, coughing up phlegm, eupneic Assessment: CIRDC Plan: Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x14d until 11/20 Recheck at day 7, 10 Move to iso Prognosis: Good

Maude allowed the counselor to scan and collar her. In the office, she went straight to the garbage cans and got items out of the trash. She released when told and accepted treats. She was disinterested in counselor’s attention.

Look:: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:: 2. Dog quickly pulls back.

Toy:: 1. No interest.
Summary:: Maude was a bit anxious during the handling assessment. Though she allowed all handling Maude displayed high movement due to her discomfort with the slip lead. Maude continued to jerk back, and pull away from the assessor.
Summary (1):: Maude was brought in as a stray so her behavior around other dogs is unknown. 10/29: When off leash at the Care Center, Maude displays a nervous posture– tucked body,slow movements. She tolerates greets from the helper dog but mostly explores the yard. 10/30-11/05: Maude displays more confidence today in a group of calm male and female dogs. She becomes pushy about her face to face greet, persisting after other dogs give her clear signs they are uncomfortable but she does respond well to the handler interruptions. She will correct when a male attempts to mount her.
