11/19/16 18:03 BASIC INFO Maribel A1097390 is an APBT. She was left tied to the gate of The Brooklyn Shelter on the Shepherd Avenue side. An employee noticed her and notified us of the dog. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Maribel allowed handling, collaring and photos. She had loose wiggly body and seeked attention from everyone.

When off leash with other dogs at the care center, Maribel is nervous and mostly keeps to herself as she wanders in groups of calm male and female dogs. She growls when dogs move quickly, greet her for too long, or are nervous. The Behavior Department believes that Maribel would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home. A dog-dog interaction can be conducted with a potential adopter’s well socialized, calm dog to assess compatibility. 11/21: Maribel is soft and wiggly and greets a novel female puppy and a novel male dog appropriately. She then approaches the handlers and solicits attention with a soft body. 11/23: When off leash with a calm male dog, Maribel mostly keeps to herself as she explores the pen. She offers correction when he begins to move too quickly for her comfort level. When greeting a nervous female through the gate, Maribel begins to growl and they are not introduced. 11/30: In a group of calm male and female dogs, Maribel is nervous, greeting the other dogs with a tucked tail.
