My name is MAPLE. My Animal ID # is A1095922.
I am a male black and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 1 MONTH old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/05/2016 from NY 11433, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
12/05/2016 Exam Type RESOLUTION – Medical Rating is 2 NC – MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 68.4 LBS.

12/05/16 Day 10 of Doxy, recheck CIRDC. O: BARH, active, social. Eating/drinking well. EENT: No oculonasal discharge or sneezing. H/L: Lungs clear. No coughing. A: Resolved CIRDC, no new signs. P: Excellent prognosis. 12/02/16 Day 7 of doxy, recheck CIRDC S/O: BAR. Active and attention seeking. Eating well. Normal stool EENT: Eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge H/L: No coughing or sneezing A: CIRDC resolved P: OK to move out of isolation. Continue to monitor while at BACC. Excellent prognosis

11/05/16 12:04 Maple is a black/white American Pit bull terr mix, found as a stray. Maple appears to have open wound on face and neck area. Upon intake, Maple allowed all handling and displayed an open mouth, wagging tail & loose body. Scanned negative, when Maple walked past another dog in the kennel, he started to growl and lunge towards the other dog.

KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Intact, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 11/15/16 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Summary: Maple was very friendly and playful towards the assessor, he displayed no behavioral concerns. PLAYGROUP: Maple was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. Due to Maple’s status as a DOH hold, a muzzle is placed on him. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Maple whines to greet the other dog. Once in the pen, Maple only greets the novel female briefly becoming anxious and occupied with the muzzle. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 11/15/16: During his medical examination, Maple is active, attention seeking and allows all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: Maple displays a high activity level in the care center. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (Suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)

REC BAYTRIL 272MG PO Q24 X 7 DAYS AND CLAVAMOX 375MG PO Q12 X 14 DAYS, RIMADYL 75MG PO Q12 X 7 DAYS. (GAVE FIRST DOSE OF ORAL CLAVAMOX AND RIMADYL) CONTINUE TO MONITOR.
