A volunteer writes: You know the expression, “Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed”? It was written with Mama in mind! Her plume of a tail wags gently, her gorgeous amber eyes look up with sweetness. She allows me to put a raincoat on her and we’re out the door where she pees endlessly confirming what her former owner tells us. Surrendered with her housemate Puppy (A1069287) we’re told that they sometimes played chase and “lounged” next to one another, has been around young children and while excitable, calms and allows petting. She doesn’t guard her things, and is described as independent, affectionate and tolerant. She enjoys being brushed, knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’ and ‘come, enjoys stuffed toys and enjoys long walks.Mama was easy to spend time with and while she pulled a bit at first on leash, as soon as she took care of all “her business” she walked nicely. Her beautiful coat is soft and well cared for, and when she joined me up on the bench for a quick hug her tail wagged gently. An absolute delight who was getting to know her new surroundings (in the rain) when we first met, I’m sure she’ll delight her new person or family. When our time together was over Mama hopped right back into her kennel and settled down. She’s a dream!
PROFILE :
Mama is a spayed, tan Labrador mix. She was bred in owner’s home. Mama since a puppy has been considered part of the family. However the owner has to surrender Mama and his other dog A1069287 Puppy due to personal problems. Mama has no known illness.
SOCIALIZATION
Mama has been around children ages 1 and up. She is excitable around children but manages to relax and allows being petted. BEHAVIOR

She allows people to touch her food bowl while eating, removing toys or rawhide from her mouth with no problem. She enjoys having her coat brushed, is tolerant of baths and is fine being restrained. She is has trained and has never had any accidence in the house.
FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW
