**ULCERATED MAMMARY TUMOR, NEEDS PLACEMNET ASAP**
13y White Female 8lbs. Intake: Owner Surrender 10/30/17
10/30; DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: 13 yo; Microchip noted on Intake? neg; History : O surrender; Subjective: BAR, jumpy but able to handle during PE, no signs of aggression; Observed Behavior – Objective ; T =; P = wnl; R = eup; BCS 4/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: mod – severe dental disease; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: mild discomfort on abd palpation, may be due to MGTs, no masses palpated; U/G: intact female. Multiple MGTs throughout both mammary chains, some very large and appear moist and ulcerative, discomfort on palpation. No vulvar dc. ; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, fair hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: normal externally; Assessment; geriatric FI small mixed breed canine; multiple MGTs, some ulcerative and painful; dental disease; Prognosis: guarded to poor; Plan: – CBC/chem — see blood work interpretation; – 3 view CXR to check for mets. If metastasis present, recommend HE. — no mets seen; – Will see if New Hope is able to place p with an an adequate care giver, if not, recommend HE
10/30Blood work abnormalities are likely consistent with p’s multiple mammary gland tumors, and the infection/inflammation associated with some of masses which are moist and ulcerative.
