02/25/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I’d been ‘stalking’ beautiful Maksim for a while before I had the chance to spend some quality time with him. Let me say, the wait was worth it! Having already met his little brother Morello (A1028075), I was eager to discover the other half of this dynamic duo (Maksim is Batman to Morello’s Robin–just look at that mask!) and though he’s feeling a bit under the weather, my handsome date still turned on the charm. He’s a great leash walker, seemingly house-trained and very responsive to my voice. While he’s not in the mood for treats, he’ll still sit obediently on command when I offer them. Out in the yard, we play a few rounds of chase-the-tennis-ball together. Maksim’s level of enthusiasm waxes and wanes in direct proportion to my own. He’s a very intuitive sort of guy, and with his good manners and dapper looks I could see him being the perfect ‘plus one’ for just about any occasion. Petting is quietly appreciated, but Maksim saves his happiest tail wags for other dogs, perking up when he sees them approach and greeting each new friend with polite yet enthusiastic attention. All this, and he’s lived in harmony with cats too! A true gentleman who’ll do his new family proud wherever he goes, Maksim is all dressed up and ready to head home with you today.

Maksim pulls a bit on the leash. He was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. Maksim was focused on objects in the room during handling. He was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl.
