Major
Hello, my name is Major. My animal id is #9663. I am a male gray dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 6 months 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 13-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- new baby.
Major 9663 is at risk for a respiratory infection (CIRDC). Behaviorally, Major has been timid and fearful in the care center, he will attempt to increase distance when uncomfortable. We recommend an adult-only home.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: This is a story about a gorgeous dog and his pink elephant. Yes, Major loves his plushie, loves to chase it and then bring it back for another throw, or a game of tug. When he drops it at my feet, he backs up a step or two so I can pick it up. His eyes sparkle with the anticipation of the next throw. I’m not sure who had the better time, him or me!! Major is majorly handsome in his sleek, gorgeously shiny coat, his weight perfect for his size, and his kisses and wagging tail promise a fine friendship. Ready at the front of his kennel and easily leashed for a walk, he’s most certainly house trained, as stated by his former owner, and shows off lovely leash manners. He also showed me his sit, both for a treat, and to wait for another toss of his toy. Surrendered due to a newborn in the house, we’re told that Major is friendly and outgoing with all, lunges and barks at small dogs, has a cute habit of taking some of the food out of his bowl to eat somewhere else, doesn’t guard his things, likes to take baths, is used to three walks a day, and chews on shoes and pillows. I adored this fine young dog, his playfulness, his affectionate but respectful manner, and his joy at making new friends. So, put your shoes away, make your bed and come adopt this awesome pup.
