07/03/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/03/16 16:55 BASIC INFO Nacho is a 5 year old neutered APBT mix. His family got him from a pet store when he was a puppy and surrendered him due to owner health and moving. Nacho breaks out in rashes. He eats prescription Royal Canin selected protein adult PD duck and potato dry food. SOCIALIZATION Nacho is friendly/outgoing with new people. He barks as he passes by dogs outside. He hasn’t bit anyone. He hasn’t interacted with children or other pets. BEHAVIOR Nacho doesn’t mind storms. He barks at garbage trucks. He doesn’t mind when someone takes his food, treat, toy, moves him off furniture, holds/retrains him, wakes him up, or bathes him. He’s friendly with most strangers who approach his home/family, while he barks at ~10% of them. His owner thinks he senses that they are a threat. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Nacho’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable, and high energy. He follows his family. He plays fetch and chase and plays with balls. He lived inside and slept on the couch or in a crate. He enjoys people food as a treat. He’s housetrained, potties anywhere outside, and doesn’t have accidents. He was walked twice per day in the past, but has only been walked once daily recently and still doesn’t have accidents inside. Nacho is well-behaved while left alone loose. Recently, he’s been kept in a crate most of the time due to his owner’s health, and he was well-behaved. Nacho sits and gives paw when asked. He went for brisk walks and pulls on his leash until he goes potty. INTAKE Nacho had a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and took his pictures. After his owner left, he pulled towards the door.
07/05/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Handsome Nacho was so quiet in his kennel, ready to go for a walk when I was ready to take him. I was so pleased to meet this handsome fellow, tall, elegant and nervous walking past a bunch of barking dogs. You’re OK Nacho – you’ve got this! Once outside he peed forever, confirming his former owner’s information that he’s housetrained. Only pulling on the leash when he wanted to explore the next great sniff, Nacho is easy to walk and spend time with. His tail never stops wagging as we walk and when I ask him to sit he does so in exchange for a treat. Off leash in the back he’s up on the bench with me, giving me kisses. We’re also told that Nacho is friendly with new people, may bark at dogs he passes on a walk, barks at garbage trucks, doesn’t guard his stuff, likes to play fetch, chase and with balls, is crate trained but is well behaved when left home alone so doesn’t need it. Nacho was surrendered to our care due to his owner’s failing health, and it’s clear that he was a beloved companion. He eats Royal Canin adult PD duck and potato dry food as he has some skin allergies, but nothing slows this sweet boy down. He’s such a nice dog who needs a new person or family to love him to the moon and back. He’s ready to do the same for you.
