A Volunteer Wrote: This little Tinkerbell of a pup reminds me of those clip-on bears we used to attach to our backpacks when we were kids. The second she’s off the leash, she’s up in our laps, arms wrapped around our shoulders in a hug, head buried down except for the frequent moments of adoring kisses. She cannot get close enough, this gentle, mush of a mouse. Our love zig zags on the street–she could use leash training, but since she’s so tiny a 6 year old could do it–but she’s zigging and zagging towards any friendly person passing by, wagging her tail and trying to engage them in play. Who could resist? Why would you want to? Lyra is a dog to delight any age child–or the child in any adult. All you need to do is open your arms and prepare for attachment–literally and metaphorically. We assure you, it will be mutual.
